This design for Trouble in Butetown written by Diana Nneka draws inspiration from the local pubs and community centre of Tiger Bay. It aims to recreate the close-knit atmosphere of the 1940s Butetown community, by setting the action in a pub—a familiar and welcoming community hub. In a unique immersive twist, the audience will be seated around the bar and served drinks during the performance by Gwyneth (the landlord) and Conni, enhancing the sense of intimacy and connection between the audience and the performers.
